First Lady of Anambra State, Dr Mrs Nonye Soludo, has called on Nigerians to be more intentional about what they eat.
The First Lady made the call in a message to mark World Food Day 2026, observed on Friday, October 16, with the theme, “Innovate Today. Nourish Tomorrow.”
She said the commemoration offered an opportunity for the living to observe and study what they feed on their body.
According to Mrs Soludo who is also the founder of Healthy Living With Nonye Soludo Initiative, ‘Food is more than just what we eat; it’s what we feed our bodies, how we nourish our minds, and the foundation upon which our health is built.
“Every meal is a choice, and every choice really matters. The food on our plates can strengthen our bodies, protect us from illness, and support our well-being, or, when we consistently make unhealthy choices, contribute to diseases and poor health.
“As we mark World Food Day today, let’s be more intentional about what we eat. Let’s embrace fresh fruits, vegetables, whole foods, and balanced meals.
“Let’s also teach our children that healthy eating is not a luxury, but a lifelong investment in their future,.and building a healthier society begins with the little choices we make every day, starting with what we put on our plates. Choose wisely. Eat healthily. Live fully, the first lady admonished.
