Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has praised President Bola Tinubu’s macroeconomic and infrastructural reforms, declaring that the administration’s policies are actively working to steer the nation toward recovery.
Governor Soludo made these remarks during the visit of the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to Ekwueme Square in Awka, on Thursday, where she presided over the distribution of empowerment materials to 5,000 beneficiaries.
Governor Soludo welcomed the First Lady to the “Light of the Nation,” describing her as a loving mother, supportive wife, and compassionate leader whose public service exemplifies true philanthropy and biblical values.
Acknowledging the current economic hardships, Governor Soludo stated that the national economy was in dire need of resuscitation when President Tinubu assumed office, expressed firm confidence that the next four years of the current administration will birth a stronger and fairer Nigeria.
While highlighting cross-party synergy, Governor Soludo noted that progressives must work together for the nation’s progress, pointing to the collaborative alliance between the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA)—which he termed synonymous with Anambra—and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Governor outlined plans to continue to cascade federal initiatives down to local communities through the state’s Onye aghana nwanne ya philosophy, specifically announced that the National Community Food Bank Programme would be expanded to every community, ensuring that every Primary Health Centre (PHC) hosts a food bank.
Governor Soludo commended his wife, Nonye Soludo, for complementing the First Lady’s national initiatives at the subnational level, ensuring millions of ndi Anambra reap the benefits of structured federal-state partnerships focused on security, human capital development, and grassroots empowerment.
Speaking during the symbolic empowerment programme at Ekwueme Square, Senator Tinubu announced a cash grant of ₦100,000 each for 5,000 beneficiaries.
Senator Tinubu noted that after traveling across all six geopolitical zones of the country, she was fittingly concluding the tour in Anambra State.
The First Lady assured citizens that there is genuine hope for the Nigerian people, emphasizing the importance of national unity and urging Nigerians to know and embrace one another as compatriots.
Addressing community welfare, she advised that mothers struggling to feed their children should be directed to Primary Health Centres equipped with food banks and expressed gratitude to Governor Chukwuma Soludo for the tremendous love and support he has consistently shown to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In her remark, the wife of governor Soludo and the founder of Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative, Dr Mrs Nonye Soludo, thanked the President wife for empowering the women with the self-employed items.
She urged the beneficiaries to make judicious used of the items to uplift others.
