As the world marks the ‘International Youth Day’, the Anambra Stats first lady, Dr Nonye Soludo, has urged the youth across the country to believe in themselves and keep learning, adding that they are not merely the leaders of tomorrow, but real change makers shaping the world.
Soludo, who is the founder of the Non-Governmental Organisation, ‘Healthy living with Nonye Soludo’, said young people should never underestimate the difference they can make, emphasising that their ideas, energy and courage are needed in building the future the society truly desire.
She stated this in a press statement she issued on Wednesday, as part of activities commemorating the ‘International Youth Day’ marked globally by the United Nations on August 12.
She said, “Young people are not merely the leaders of tomorrow; they are the real changemakers, innovators, entrepreneurs, creators and problem-solvers shaping our world today.
“As we celebrate International Youth Day, let’s continue to create spaces where our young people can learn, build, lead and thrive. Every young person deserves the opportunity to discover their potential and turn their dreams into meaningful impact. The world owes them that.
“To every young person in Anambra and beyond, believe in yourself, keep learning, stay healthy, and never underestimate the difference you can make.
“Your ideas, energy and courage are needed in building the future we all truly desire. Happy International Youth Day.”
She raised the awareness of the challenges and opportunities facing young people around the world and celebrates their role as essential partners in achieving sustainable development.
The International Youth Day is an awareness day designated by the United Nations that takes place on August 12. The purpose of the day is to draw attention to a given set of cultural and legal issues surrounding youth.
