The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC), Anambra State Command has arrested three suspects for vandalizing properties and building structures belonging to the State government at Onitsha.
The suspects according to SC Okadigbo Edwin Head, Media and Tactical Operations NSCDC Anambra State Command who disclosed this in a statement in Awka on Tuesday, were apprehended on the 14th of September 2026, at about 15:48hrs, by operatives of the Corps in collaboration with Agunachemba Security Outfit in Onitsha South Local Government Area while vandalizing government property in the area.
The arrested suspects include Mr. Oseloka Anyaorah of Onitsha Umuasi, who claimed to be the Chairman of Ogbo Family, alongside Mr. John Nwobodo and Mr. Ifeanyi Nwancho, both of whom claimed to be workers of Mr. Anyaorah at the site.
“Exhibits recovered include: one government signpost, zinc sheets, nails, and other building materials.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects conspired to damage and remove parts of government infrastructure belonging to Onitsha South. The vandalised items have been recovered and are in the custody of the Corps.
The State Commandant, Commandant Maku Olatunde, condemned the act and described the vandalism of public property as economic sabotage against the government and people of Anambra State. He reiterated the Corps’ commitment to the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure.
“Commandant Maku directed that the suspects be profiled and charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.
He further called on Anambra residents to provide timely information to the NSCDC to prevent further vandalism of government facilities.
