When Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo speaks of building a prosperous and liveable homeland, he is not chasing poetry; he is describing a governance philosophy that treats human flourishing as the destination, not the by-product.
That philosophy found a willing disciple in Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, Vice-Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), who speaks of building a community of love and happy people. Her “3Vs” of Values, Viability and Visibility are simply love translated into institutional language.
Vision without value is vanity; viability without visibility is noise. Mr. Governor’s mantra of “an agenda with a deadline” supplies the urgency.
The Vice-Chancellor’s “3Vs” supply the method. Prof. Soludo has turned COOU from a university that merely exists into one that is being deliberately transformed.
