The Anambra State governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has presented the first batch of commissioner-nominees to the state House of Assembly for confirmation.
The names of the commissioner-nominees and their designated portfolios were attached to each of the 18 nominees.
Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Somtochukwu Udeze, recieved the list of commisoner nominees from Soludo for confirmation during today’s plenary, on Tuesday.
Udeze thereafter refered the list to the Committee on Screen and Election Matters, for screening and possible confirmation.
The names of the commissioner-nominees forwarded the Speaker forwarded to the Committee on Screening And Election Matters include:
Commissioner for griculture, Dr Ben Odoemena; Budget and Economic Planning, Chukwukadibia Okoye, FCCA; Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, Udoji Amedu; Education, Dr Ekene Ogugua.
Others are Commissioners for Environment, Dr Clem Aguiyi; Finance, Izuchukwu M. Okafor; Health, Dr Afam Obidike; Information and Value Reformation, Dr Law Mefor; Justice/Attorney-General, Tobechukwu Nweke, SAN; Commissioner for Lands, Prof. Offornze Amucheazi, SAN; Local Government and Community Affairs, Vin Ezeaka.
Others include Commissioners for Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Prof. Charles Ofoegbu; Physical Planning and Urban Development, Chijioke Oseloka Ojukwu; Power, Casmir Agummadu; Works and Infrastructure, Okey Ezeobi; Transport, Eddy Ibuzo, Women Affairs and Social Development, Esther Onyekesi; and Youth Development and Sports, Patrick Agha, MBA.
From the list, some of the commissioners, such as Dr Afam Obidike, Dr Law Mefor, and Patrick Agha, who served in the first term were retained with the same portfolio.
