The All Progressives Grand Alliance has insisted that the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the November 8, 2025 Anambra governorship poll, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, lacks the “electoral value” required for victory in any election in the state.
The party was reacting to comments made by Ukachukwu during an APC rally for the state Assembly by-election coming up on August 16, 2025.
During the rally, Ukachukwu said, “We will use the by-election to show that APC owns Anambra”, a comment that has sparked reactions across the state.
However, while reacting in a press statement released on Sunday, the National Coordinator, APGA Media Warriors Forum, Chinedu Obigwe, asked the APC candidate to stop dwelling in self deceit.
Obigwe said Ukachukwu should stop making empty boasts “because he knows full well that APC is not in existence in Anambra.
The statement read in part, “In our reaction to the comments made by the APC candidate, I will state without mincing words that Ukachukwu is dwelling in self deceit. He knows very well that APC is not in existence in Anambra and that he does not have the required electoral value to give APC victory in any election in Anambra.
“The only thing he knows how to do is rigging and as APGA is planning to win the votes of Anambra electorates in the forthcoming August 16 bye-election and November 8 governorship election, he is busy planning how to rig the elections.
“He also specialises in making empty boasts just as he did in the above referred news report. This is a man that has never won any election in Anambra State since he started contesting elections in the State.
“Ukachukwu was APGA Senatorial candidate for Anambra South in the last 2023 general election and he lost the election woefully to the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah of blessed memory.
“One thing about Ukachukwu is that when talking to Anambra people, he always forgets that he is not talking to strangers but people that know him very that have rejected him in many elections in the state. He cannot do more than a dead rat on August 16 and November 8.”
He said whatever “evil plan” that anyone wants to perfect in the state on August 16 and November 8,will be vehemently resisted by the vigilant electorates of the state.
“Anambra is APGA land and the people of the State will continue voting for APGA candidates in any election because they have justified the confidence reposed on the party,” the statement concluded.
