The All Progressives Grand Alliance has slammed the deputy governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Uche Ekwunife, saying she has no moral justification to mobilise Anambra women to vote APC in the November 8, 2025 governorship election in the state.
APGA insisted that telling Anambra women to vote for the ticket of Nicholas Ukachukwu/Ekwunife is tantamount to telling them to make a “suicidal mistake”.
Recall that at a function in the state over the weekend, Ekwunife was seen dancing and telling residents to vote for the joint ticket of Ukachukwu/Ekwunife in the November 8 poll.
But in a press statement released on Tuesday, the National Coordinator, APGA Media Warriors Forum, Chinedu Obigwe, said both Ukachukwu and Ekwunife, cannot unseat the state governor and the APGA candidate, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo.
Obigwe said, “In all honesty, a character in the person of Senator Uche Ekwunife that is Ukachukwu running mate does not have the moral justification to mobilise Anambra women to tell them to vote for the dead on conception Ukachukwu/Ekwunife joint ticket.
“The both of them are birds of the same feathers that have nothing good to offer Anambra people. She wants to go to the government house as deputy governor to be dancing.
“Such character should not aspire to be Anambra deputy governor, especially when we have refined characters in Governor Soludo and his deputy, Dr Onyeka Ibezim that are steering the ship of Anambra State government leadership in the right direction.
“Let me refresh the memory of our people, Senator Uche Ekwunife who was dancing at that function was a key player in the late Chinwoke Mbadinuju government between 1999 to 2003
“Not as an appointee, but as a trusted ally of Mbadinuju that operated from the background and it’s a well known fact in public domain that her association with Mbadinuju contributed to the failure of that government.
“So for her to come and be telling Anambra women to vote for the dead on arrival Ukachukwu/Ekwunife ticket is tantamount to telling them to make a suicidal mistake.”
The APGA chieftain said Anambra women will vote for Soludo on November 8 to continue enjoying free ante natal and free delivery services in all government-owned hospitals in the state.
“They will vote for Soludo for our children to continue enjoying free education from primary to secondary school level, they will vote for Soludo for the continuous empowerment of our youth through the 1youth 2skills initiative and transformation of our State into the Dubai/Taiwan of Africa.
“Anambra women will not leave Governor Soludo that is delivering dividends of good governance in our state to heed the useless advice of the skelewu dancing Sen. Uche Ekwunife. It is Prof Soludo for Governor till March 17th 2030 or nothing,” the statement added.
