The members of Okpuno Community in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State, have declared its support for the state governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, pledging to give him 100 per cent votes in the November 8, 2025 governorship election in the state.
The community made this declaration during the opening ceremony of their Youth Office, which was attended by some members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance.
Speaking at the ceremony on Friday, the President-General of the community, Luke Egwuatu, praised Soludo for what he described as exemplary leadership and transformative governance in Anambra State.
Egwuatu highlighted Soludo’s works, particularly the double-lane road construction project that benefited the Okpuno community, praising the governor for his efforts in curbing insecurity in the state.
He said, “Under Soludo’s administration, our community has witnessed real development. The dual-lane road project is just one of the many signs of progress. We also commend his decisive action in tackling insecurity.
“That is why we, the people of Okpuno, have resolved to give him 100 per cent of our votes come November 8.”
Also speaking, the Youth President of Okpuno, Charles Obidimma, described Soludo as a “youth-friendly” leader.
Obidimma specifically applauded the administration’s “One Youth, Two Skills” initiative, which he said has empowered many young people across the state.
He echoed the President-General’s endorsement, stating, “We are fully aligned with the decision of our community leadership. Those contesting against Soludo are simply wasting their time. The youth of Okpuno stand firmly with him.”
Also speaking at the event, the National Coordinator, APGA Media Warriors Forum, Chinedu Obigwe, popularly known as “Akaekpuchionwa”, described Soludo as a “God-sent leader” to the people of Anambra.
Obigwe commended the Okpuno youth for their public declaration of support, attributing their loyalty to the visible improvements brought about by the Soludo administration.
“I urge the youth to remain vigilant on election day. Let your votes reflect the gratitude you feel for a government that has worked for your benefit. Use your ballot to reward Soludo for his remarkable contributions to our state,” Obigwe added.
