The Anambra State Police Command has foiled a kidnap attempt, rescued the victim and recovered his vehicle in Isuaniocha community in Awka North Local Government Area of the state.
It was gathered that the kidnapping gang of five operating in a black coloured Toyota Corolla doublecrossed the victim at Amatu village in Agulu, Anaocha LGA and abducted him with his black Lexus 350 SUV before the police were alerted.
The spokesman for the state Police command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, who confirmed the incident in a press statement on Sunday, said police operatives attached to the Special Anti-Cultism Squad, Enugwu-Ukwu, carried out the exercise on Saturday.
Ikenga said the operatives in technology-driven manhunt on the criminals made them to abandon the victim and the vehicle on the road at Isuaniocha and fled, adding that the victim has been debriefed and in safe custody.
