President Bola Tinubu, on Thursday, arrived in Anambra State on a working visit to unveil various “legacy” projects by the state governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo’s administration.
Speaking at the Dr Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, during a town hall meeting with critical stakeholders of the state, after commissioning the projects, Tinubu said Nigeria’s strength is in its diversity, insisting that the country’s diversity must lead to it’s prosperity.
The President said on his assumption of office, he observed that he needed to make tough policies required to confront the “wastefulness” he met on the ground and to lay a solid foundation for a more prosperous country.
He said building a critical infrastructure is the commitment of both federal and state governments, adding that the country we must invest in critical infrastructure to sustain its future.
He, however, expressed satisfaction at the projects and commended Soludo, adding, “From the evidence on the ground today, a solid foundation is being laid and Anambra is on the rise. I have just commissioned some projects which reflected the quality of governance for the people of Anambra.”
He said, “On assumption of office, I met a lot of wastefulness which required tough policies to confront and to lay a solid foundation for a more prosperous country. Already, from the policies, we are already seeing results. Small businesses are coming back, agriculture is coming back.
“In our national anthem, we sing that ‘though tribes and tongues may differ, but in brotherhood we stand’. We are living in the same house called Nigeria, though in different locations with diversities. Our diversity must lead to prosperity, we must work together to lead Nigeria. We must commit ourselves to the development of our country.
